iRacer Josh Berry Takes First NASCAR Late Model Win for JR Motorsports
Veteran iRacer and JR Motorsports late model driver Josh Berry?s gutsy driving paid dividends for the team, as he became a first-time winner in the No. 72 Chevrolet following Saturday?s Aqua Pros Twin 100 at Motor Mile Speedway.� Berry took a fourth-place qualifying effort and led the final 50 laps to earn JRM its first late model victory at the .416-mile since 2008. ?This is just incredible,? Land Rover builds tough vehicles, and it believes that occupants should feel safe when inside of them. We believe most people have a similar definition when discussing vehicular safety, but Land Rover owners might have other definitions of safety as well...
In a new commercial, Land Rover shows us that its LR4 is a safe haven from one soon-to-be-angry significant other that just discovered her man is a pathological liar. He's not named Jean-Luc, does not speak with a French accent and has a whole host of other things to confess. Thankfully, he can do so from the safety of his Land Rover.

Bird poo does not destroy your car's paint... at least not by itself

Every summer we're stuck with the same dilemma. We can park the car out in the sun, which will inevitably will lead to scorching hot interior temperatures. The alternative is to park under a shady tree, where birds will undoubtedly poop all over our freshly washed ride. We usually opt for the sun out of auto vanity, but at least we don't have to worry about bird poop messing with the paint.
We've heard that acid from the bird droppings is the reason for the doo-doo perforations, but a study by UK car care experts Autoglym reveals that the excrement is only part of the problem. The real culprit is the sun, which expands and warms the paint on your vehicle. When the sun hits that bird poop, the poo hardens at the same time the paint expands. When the sun sets and the vehicle cools, the paint then contracts and forms itself around the hardened crap.
If a bird does his or her business on your vehicle, the best thing to do is remove it, and fast. A moist cloth will do the trick in most instances, or if you're not into close encounters of the rectal kind, you could also hit the car wash. It was fun to own a truck for a while, but fuel prices and a global recession eventually caught up to the recreational truck owner. Sales of the Ford F-Series came in at 413,000 units in 2009, while 2010 improved to 528,000. Combined that adds up to roughly the same amount of trucks Ford sold in '05 alone. Does the precipitous drop in truck sales mean that high-dollar pickups of the past are on the outs? Not even close.
The F-150 lineup now features Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch and particularly awesome Raptor variants, each with their own hefty price tag. The Raptor is an off-roading beast of epic proportions, while the Lariat, Platinum and King Ranch offer plush accommodations and equipment that are matched by great looks and supreme capability. And if none of those options appeal to the $50,000 truck buyer, Ford continues to offer the F-150 Harley-Davidson edition.
For 2011, Ford's brand-borrowing super truck now boasts more power, new looks and an even fancier (for better or worse) cabin. We took the reins of a fully loaded Harley-Davidson-branded F-150 to see if this pricey pickup has the right mix of luxury and performance to bring back the low impact luxury truck owner. If you're still kicking yourself for not forking over the cash necessary to take home the very first 2012 Ford Mustang Boss 302 ever created, it's your lucky day. That very vehicle has shown up on eBay motors, and if you've got the means, you've got a second chance at calling this particular car your own. Why is the seller sending this piece of history on its way? Simple: the guy says he bought a Boss 302, not a museum piece.
He didn't know that his car was the very first production model until all of the appropriate lines were dotted. He says that he has neither the interest nor the space for some low-mile queen, and that instead, he wants a Boss 302 to use as his daily driver and a regular track rat. Alvaro Bautista said he felt in such good shape in the Portuguese Grand Prix that he could have fought for a top-10 finish had he not gone off the road avoiding Karel Abraham's crashed Cardion Ducati on the second lap. Suzuki rider Bautista made a remarkable return at Estoril six weeks after breaking his leg in a Qatar crash. He finished 13th and last, but said if he had not lost touch with the field by taking a detour through the gravel to miss Abraham, it could have been a much more competitive result

Reindler, Owen escape serious injury
V8 Supercar drivers Karl Reindler and Steve Owen were fortunate to escape serious injuries in a huge startline accident in race two at Barbagallo. Reindler stalled his Brad Jones Racing Holden on the grid and was powerless to prevent Owen from ploughing into the back of him at 90mph and causing his car to burst into flames. The 37G accident left Reindler with superficial burns to his hands and face.

Help Popular Mechanics find the worst road in America

Popular Mechanics is searching for America's worst roads, and it needs your help. Readers from all over the U.S. are encouraged to submit photos showing just how bad their local thoroughfares are. Once the submissions have been evaluated, PM will choose its top five.
The "winning" roads will get a visit from the Popular Mechanics crew, who will analyze just how screwed-up it is with a custom data-logging device. Strapped onto a car, the analytical tool's multi-axis accelerometer will provide information to the researchers and help them determine which road is the worst of the bunch.
A few ground rules are in place, however, because certain roads have to be excluded from testing. The magazine isn't interested in private roads, or "streets" that lack paving. Editors are looking for standard roads that, over time, have gone from smooth to suspension-busting. Head over to Popular Mechanics for information on sending in your local road for consideration, if you feel it makes the cut.
