Playboy model demonstrates co-ed naked drifting - Click above to watch the video after the break

To some, drifting is kinda sorta a non-sport. After all, the winning car isn't necessarily the one that crosses the finish line ahead of all others, and the vehicles themselves were created on purpose to be ill-handling, tail-happy smoke generators.

Somehow, we have a feeling all those ills would be forgiven by the detractors if the cars were piloted by naked Playboy models.

And so we bring you the video after the break. We'll go ahead and label this one not-safe-for-work-ish... while there technically isn't any nudity shown on camera, the model clearly is performing these smoky antics sans clothing. Oh, and of course she doesn't know how to drive a stick.

We'll say no more, and we'll leave all those rather obvious double entendres to you. Click past the break to see co-ed naked drifting's first (completely non-sanctioned) clothing optional event.

World Touring Car boss Marcello Lotti says the series is in good shape for the future after announcing a 21-car entry for 2011 - and that 20 entries are already committed to the 2012 season as well. Despite BMW's withdrawal leaving Chevrolet as the only fully-fledged manufacturer entrant in this year's WTCC and teams having to switch to the new 1.6-litre turbo engines, the championship will start 2011 with a slightly larger entry than it attracted for the 2010 opener, when 19 cars took the start in Brazil. Chevrolet has hung on to its works line-up of Yvan Muller, Rob Huff and Alain Menu, and will also run Brazilian driver Carlos Bueno in his home event at Curitiba at least.

The second-generation Smart Fortwo Electric Drive (ED) is a limited (250 units available in the U.S.) test program model that Daimler will use to gauge consumer interest in battery-powered vehicles. Leasing the electrified Fortwo is costly, with payments ringing in at $599 a month for 48 months, plus $2,500 due at signing. Technically, the 2011 Smart ED is offered under the lease-only plan detailed above, but the automaker has listed its MSRP at $44,387.

Truth be told, we're not shocked by the Smart ED's lofty sticker price, nor are we put off by its astronomical lease rate. You see, this Fortwo ED is a limited run model and not a production electric vehicle.

But come January of 2012, the third-generation Fortwo electric, a production model, should hit the streets. By then, we'd hope that the automaker adjusts its pricing structure and offers the pint-sized electric at a more reasonable rate and, according to a report on Kicking Tires, a price drop seems to be part of Smart's plans.

Lessees of the second-gen Fortwo ED will be eligible to upgrade to Smart's electrified third-gen Fortwo when it hits the market and, unlike the automaker's current battery-powered hatch, the upcoming model will be offered for both lease and purchase.

Untamed Motorsports driver Robert Sandt poured the pressure on his fellow sim racers by capturing seven wins at the Richmond International Raceway and would be relentless as the tour headed to South Boston Speedway. Virgin Racing will again offer a Formula 1 test to the most successful driver from the affiliated Manor Racing GP3 squad's line-up this year, the teams have confirmed. As part of a talent development system that will also see Virgin Racing back new karting category Formula KGP, the top scoring driver from Manor's three-car GP3 team will drive for Virgin in the winter young driver F1 sessions.
